The Power of STREAM
How Sports, Travel and Tourism, Robotics, Environmental Studies, Art /AI, and Media Literacy are Revolutionizing Education.
In today’s rapidly changing world, it’s more important than ever to equip children with the skills they need to succeed. That’s where STREAM comes in. STREAM FEST is the famous and most popular annual event for the entire Brighton Community.
STREAM, or Sports, Travel and Tourism, Robotics, Environmental Science, Art/AI, and Media Literacy, is a modern and creative approach to education that integrates these critical subjects in a way that emphasizes hands-on, interdisciplinary learning. STREAM provides students with a unique opportunity to apply what they learn in real-world settings and help cultivate the critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative skills that are so essential in today’s rapidly changing world.
STREAM education evolved from STEM, which means that it has several different features and benefits. Primarily, its main benefit is the science-oriented training but with emphasis on creativity. Each of the STREAM subjects brings a unique set of skills and perspectives to the learning experience.
The main benefits of STEAM education include:
  1. Collaborative Approach:
  2. Instead of competing with each other, the students are taught to learn to collaborate, especially when it comes to projects.

  3. Encourages Creativity:
  4. Instead of merely following fixed instructions or steps, students are encouraged to develop their own methods of solving problems or accomplishing a project. The STEAM curriculum emphasizes the fact that there are many possible approaches to problem-solving.

  5. Improves Social Skills:
  6. Since the STEAM curriculum has a holistic collaborative approach, it also helps improve students’ emotional intelligence and social skills. They learn how to work with others and be expressive, and to become more socially adaptable. They will be able to deal with various types of personality and cultural background. Empathy, leadership, and friendship are also developed in this process.

  7. Exposure to Multimedia and Multiplatform Education:
  8. Students will not only learn about laboratory equipment or scientific instruments, but they will also be exposed to various media and platforms. These will include various art materials, digital tools, hardware, machines, and different methods.

  9. Critical Thinking Skills:
  10. Critical thinking is about the ability to examine the factual and logical merit of a new set of information and form a rational and informed opinion about certain issues. Being able to transcend personal biases and avoiding irrational intolerance are important in developing critical thinking skills.

  11. Boosts Curiosity:
  12. Students are encouraged to be inquisitive and curious about a wide range of topics. They are trained to ask deeper questions about how and why things work. This is the boundary between the humanities and the natural sciences.

Brighton Battle of the Books
At Brighton we believe that Reading allows us to be transported from our own world to another. Between the pages of a book, we can become immersed in the lives of fictional characters and learn about a culture entirely different from our own. We can also learn new words and phrases, experience a range of emotions, and acquire skills and knowledge.
The importance of reading for children cannot be underestimated. Reading for pleasure can benefit a child’s education, social and cognitive development, their wellbeing, and their mental health.
Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program that inspires and challenges students to read. Through this program we strive to promote a love for literature and the important character education goals of teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship.
This program will not only motivate students to read but monitor their own comprehension and become active participants in book discussions. This program will both challenge and entertain students.

The highlights of this program include:

  • Spell a thon / Read a thon.
  • Book Reviews.
  • Balloon Debates.
  • Book Tasting.
  • Book illustrations.
  • Emerging Authors.
Brighton Talks
Communication skills are essential for the growth and development of children. They help children express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas in a clear and concise manner. Not only that, but they enable children to build relationships with others, develop problem-solving abilities, and become better decision-makers. Being able to communicate well can even increase their self-confidence.
At Brighton we believe that fostering communication skills in children is critical to helping them succeed in later life. One of the most important and most dreaded forms of communication is public speaking. In the working world, public speaking is a vital skill to have. While some kids take to it naturally, others tend to be more fearful of standing and talking in front of a crowd. We encourage all our young Brightoners from an early age to hold the mic and independently speak in front of the audience.
We are nurturing public speakers from Pre School till O’ levels. Brightoners are provided the opportunity to engage in everyday public speaking activities like Morning assemblies, presentations, dramas, roleplays, class projects, global virtual events, annual school programs but above all through Brighton Talks.
Teaching children public speaking and debate through Brighton talks is ultimately one of the most effective forms of communication training. These activities not only develop children’s critical thinking skills, persuasive skills, and confidence, but they’ve also been shown to boost their grades!
Follow the Sunnah – It will take you to Jannah
The best way to express love for the Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) is to send peace and blessings upon him. Loving him, following/obeying him and sending peace & blessing upon him is an essential part of faith (Iman) of every Muslim.
Indeed, The Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) is a role model for all mankind till the day of judgement. At Brighton, we have initiated a special Program Follow the Sunnah – It will take us to Jannah; to inculcate the love for our Holy Prophet’s (S.A.W.) in hearts of our young students.
Reviving and following the Prophet’s Sunnah is a great blessing of Allah. As Narrated by Anas Bin Malik (RA) “The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said to me: ‘Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has loved me. And whoever loved me, he shall be with me in Paradise.” (Tirmidhi: 2678)
We aim to inspire our students in following authentic Sunnah which are easy to follow as they are already part of our daily life.
Asma-ul-Husna Project
Allah SWT says in the Quran: “And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them” (Quran 7:180)
At Brighton we believe it is crucial to learn Asma-ul-Husna for every child. It is much like learning about ALLAH. Knowing Him increases a believer in his/her faith. For that matter one needs to memorize those sacred names along with complete understanding of their meanings. The most beautiful names of ALLAH reflect His endless powers, beneficence, glory, mercy and wrath, which makes a believer love His Creator as well as fear His disapproval.
Calling on ALLAH through Asma-ul-Husna is a gateway towards attainment of epitome of goodness. Seeking bounties like mercy, forgiveness, protection, health, honor, job, earning, marriage, children etc. can surely be achieved with having core belief in ALLAH and calling upon Him through His most beautiful names. Let’s join hands to make our children learn, recite and reflect on the 99 Asma-ul Husna.

Brighton’s Big Balloon Debate
Brighton’s Big Balloon debate encourages children to imagine the hypothetical situation of a hot-air balloon which is too heavy and rapidly losing height.
The balloon basket might hold a group of famous people, authors, celebrities, particular professions or even objects, inventions, numbers or concepts. Children then discuss and debate why some should be allowed to stay and why something or someone should go (with a parachute of life jacket).
A brilliant discussion-based ‘classic’ activity that always promotes plenty of talk and active listening – Brighton’s Big Balloon debates are superb ways to improve children’s speaking and listening skills. They compare ideas together and share different trains of thought before attempting to reach a consensus. Brightoners are looking forward and striving to be a part of this grand annual event.
Brighton Big Bake
Brighton believes that School fundraisers play a crucial role in keeping school pride alive and nurturing connections within the school community. Engaging in activities like bake sales, Ramadan charity drives, or Fundraisers for the underprivileged not only raises funds but also provides a platform for everyone to work collaboratively toward a common goal.
These events are opportunities for positive interactions and building stronger relationships within the school community. They create an environment where everyone feels they are contributing to the school’s success, which boosts collective pride and a sense of belonging.
Our Young Brightoners proudly organize Brighton’s Big bake every year and it is such a delight to see the entire school community contributing generously. School fundraising is an incredible journey that brings everyone closer – students, teachers, and the community. It’s more than just raising money. It’s about building a strong, united community.
