Our Curriculum
Our Curriculum
Brighton is a school for young world citizens; a school where students benefit from an emergent
and progressive Cambridge curriculum. Our Curriculum encourages students to become active,
compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can
also be right.
Brighton offers a 21st century learning environment where every student participates as an active learner. Students have access to a broad range of learning experiences facilitated by a well-qualified, trained and passionate team of educated professional.
Our aim is to challenge students to be the very best that they can be. The skills needed for the 21st century, which support a love of learning that goes beyond the classroom, are actively embraced by
our school. An education here is based upon critical thinking, creativity, challenge, compassion
and contemplation.
From a programmatic perspective, our Early years, Primary Years and Senior Years and
comprehensive O level program provides a level of individual challenge and academic rigor that is
different from what many of us would have experienced at school. However, just as our inquiry
based approach to learning requires students to be active participants in their own education, we
expect parents to be engaged in the learning process as well.
At Brighton, we strive to develop inquisitive, well-informed and thoughtful young people who help to
create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect for all.
Early Childhood Program
Our lively academic program begins when children need it most. Research on cognitive growth
indicates that the early years of a child’s education represent the most critical time for their
development.
At Brighton we view play as an essential part of our curriculum. By playing, children establish and
enhance their creativity, social acuity, resilience, problem-solving capabilities and understanding of
sequencing and cause and effect.
Brighton takes full advantage of this critical time of growth. Expert teachers in the early childhood
division instill academic skills in language arts, math, Islamiat and more, nurturing qualities like
independence and resilience that will benefit preschoolers as they continue their education.
We foster healthy growth in all areas. Teachers in our Early Childhood Program are experts in child
development and know how to nurture each child’s healthy social, emotional and intellectual
growth. A child’s happiness affects their ability to learn, so we ensure your child learns in a positive,
supportive preschool environment. From healthy eating to community outreach, our youngest
children begin practicing the habits they’ll carry for life.

Primary Years Education
Children who know how to learn, know how to succeed. Like creativity and leadership, learning is a
skill that must be practiced. Differing from most private elementary schools, Old Trail teachers
present material in ways that become an experience, and these experiences deeply embed
knowledge in students regardless of their learning style.
Teachers collaborate to ensure they capitalize on opportunities for cross-curricular connections so
that students learn concepts from multiple angles. Because students are fully engaged in the
material, they learn more deeply, they ask and answer their own questions, and they see knowledge
as something that can be discovered, not just bestowed.
Project 345
Designed for students in grades 3-5, Project 345 is a gateway to social entrepreneurship that blends
elements of global citizenship, business management and financial literacy. By engaging with
global nonprofits, students are able to gain a more comprehensive understanding of global issues
and the collaboration and funding necessary to tackle them. Students leave this experience with an
understanding of what it takes to start their own business and a drive to bring practical solutions to
the complex challenges faced by people all around the world.
Secondary Years Education
Secondary years students experience their transitional adolescent years in an intellectually
stimulating and supportive environment. We guarantee a positive and memorable middle school
journey where every student thrives in a community valuing and respecting each individual.
Students take charge of their education, pursuing passions and expressing ideas creatively, and our
faculty strives to develop and align appropriately challenging curricula. Whether through team
activities or independent projects, the aim is consistent: preparing your child for success in high
school, private secondary school, college, and life.
At Brighton, learning about other people and places goes far beyond school events and field trips.
By fostering Global citizenship at the heart of our school, our skilled educators guide our students
on immersive adventures both within the classroom and to different corners of the world. This
experience-driven learning extends our campus and curriculum to give students stronger social
and cultural awareness, strengthen interpersonal and communicative skills, and nurture the
empathy required to thrive in an increasingly interconnected society. Our emphasis on global
citizenship is a continuation of our promise to nurture a strong sense of ethics, awareness, and
character in every child.
O Levels Program
The Cambridge international curriculum sets a global standard for education and is recognized by
universities and employers worldwide. Cambridge students develop an informed curiosity and a
lasting passion for learning. They also gain the essential skills they need for success at university
and in their future careers. Cambridge programs combine an emphasis on mastering subjects in
depth with the development skills for study and work in the future.
At Brighton, our approach supports to develop learners who are:
- Confident in working with information and ideas – their own and those of others.
- Responsible for themselves, responsive to and respectful of others.
- Reflective and developing their ability to learn.
- Innovative and equipped for new and future challenges.
- Engaged intellectually and socially, ready to make a difference.
The O level faculty at Brighton comprises of the finest faculty there is in Karachi. We follow a tuition
free strategy so there is simply no need for a student to visit any center for private coaching.
Brighton provides its students with study material including teachers’ notes, booklets, handouts
and past papers, which also play a key role in strengthening the tuition-free strategy.
Parents are required to ensure that their child maintains a minimum 80% attendance every month
so that the child’s home-study is implemented with commitment.
